Solar Panel Construction 3 – Open Source Ecology
This shows how to solder solar cell ribbon to solar cells. Part 3. For more information, see openfarmtech.org See more info about constructing our solar panels here: openfarmtech.org We are looking for people who are interested in building the world’s first replicable open source self-sufficient decentralized high appropriate tech permaculture village – to transcend survival and evolve to freedom. I'm a 38 year-old electrical engineer from Southern California.

make more vidios fantastic job keep it up
I have built solar panels. Very simple and cheap now.
tabbing wire already has solder on it,flux pen is flux to help spread the solder when heated
hello
im fromthe zeitgeiist group .
have u seen the new NANOSOLAR film cells
chek it out
need another video showing where his solder comes from? I have not yet tried his method. I would but how do you dip into solder?
I built my own Solar Panels for UNDER $100 which currently power my 1700 Square Foot home, using the plans at:

Hey, check out my website at ScientificallyGreener(Dot) com and get all the new and improved Equipments to build or buy your own solar and wind energy systems ScientificallyGreener(Dot) com is a website that sells the most modern environmental products available
I plot on buying a soldering gun, which is the best type and how much Watts do I need.. is a 50w excellent enough
I just got my 5″ monocrystalline solar cells at Solar-Deals(.)com for a fantastic price! I’m going to use these for my DIY solar panel.
Restoring industrial hemp to its rightful place in agriculture today will return much control to our farmers, and away from the multinational corporations that dominate our political process and ruin our environment. These capital-intensive, non-sustainable industries have usurped our economic resources and clear-cut huge tracts of the world’s forests, given us massive oil spills, wars, toxic waste, massive worldwide pollution, global warming and the destruction of entire ecosystems.
Hi there, I believe that the video and the explanations are OK, what really worries me is the heat produced by the soldering iron which may ruin the cells. Usually is reccomended to
help oneself with slowing down the temperature immediately after this soldering job.
is there conclusion video? where it sais heres how you assemble them and do all the wiring and everything?
No Tommy , I don’t reckon so. AFAIK this is still under Development.
Considering the financial Crisis, it also might be that some Huge Lobby Group will just sandbox this for various reasons.
Let’s see. I’d really like to see this coming soon.
where else in so cal can I buy cells from? Nano solar is out of them or something.
Nano Solar is a place to buy the tiles? Their web site is pretty much saying they have none for sale. Is there another resource? i really want to buy some and build a few panels.
Try feeding the solder onto the iron whilst you are soldering, that way you can keep it flowing and not waste so much time, perhaps the heat will hurt the cells but it will be a better technique for tinning the wires.
50% off entire store. Limited time offer. Limited solar cells. 5″ solar cells 2 watt @ $1.20/watt. Offer ends June 7th, 2009.

OMG what are you doing there? The (maybe) only speciality of these tabbing wires are their being already-solder carrying. So, u removed the solder from them in the previous video and now you are again soldering them
Really I reckon that you couldn’t solder the tabbing wires on the panels, so you tried this way. But, I know your soldering iron which is very very cheap and never let you work on suc a solar cell. Try using a better one, so you will never waste your time.
The Cells are made from Silicon ( Main Content of common Sand )
You can not make them by yourself.
Check out the next Gen cells from Nano Solar Inc. ( in Palo Alto )
Made from : Copper (Cu) indium (In) Gallium (Ga) Sulphur (S) Selenium at about 1/10th of the Cost of the previous Generation.
If this gets off the Ground, every single Residential Unit in the US and Europe can go Solar.
Just got my solar cells for cheap. 5″ x 5″ solar cells for $1.20/watt. Limited amount! Act quick!
Use discount code: SOLARDEALS
Ends May 17th.
Get them at solar-deals(.).com
STFUI -if u are so fantastic contribute better

i work on a machine that connects cca 15 000 cells in 8 hrs.lol.well machine costs a couple of million dolars.this cells r so fragile so imagine how delicate the machine must be…look it up.komax 3300 or 3400.
DUDE….do you not know how to focus? Amateur
All this soldering is pretty much common sense. What would be really fantastic is if you could show how to really make a photovoltaic cell !
