excellent thought,but how would i cast a line,for fishing… towing the panels thought makes excellent sense for 2 reasons,wind and casting a line.
Wonderful application of solar. Quicker than paddling, shade and very silent.

Much quicker than I can paddle.Perfect for the intercoastal canal. Nice and silent fantastic ride.
Some one is going to build a solar sail boat so when the wind is dead they can propell at a moderate speed till they regain wind.
